The Drowning Girls Begins its Second Smash Weekend Starting this Thursday at Hickory Community Theatre

The macabre crime story, The Drowning Girls, which sold out its first two performances, continues its run this weekend, beginning Thursday, March 2nd at 7:30pm.

The play follows the true story of "The Brides in the Bath Murders," which took place in England a little over a century ago. As well as being widely reported in the media, the case was significant in the history of forensic pathology and detection. It was also one of the first cases in which similarities between connected crimes were used to prove deliberation, a technique used in subsequent prosecutions.

The Drowning Girls (by Beth Graham, Charlie Tomlinson and Daniela Vlaskalic) plays in the Firemen's Kitchen from March 2-12, 2017. Performances are at 7:30 pm Thursdays (Mar 2 and 9,) 8:00 pm Fridays & Saturdays, and 2:30 on Sundays (Mar 5 and 12) Tickets are $16.

Tickets may be purchased online at hickorytheatre.showare.com or at the theatre box office. The box office is open 12-5 Wednesday through Friday in person or by calling 828-328-2283.

The Drowning Girls is produced by Robert Abbey, Inc. and is the seventh production of the Theatre's 68th season, sponsored by Paramount Automotive and A Cleaner World.
