ALFA holds 8th Annual Awareness Walk

ALFA, a Western North Carolina HIV/AIDS prevention and education non-profit, will hold its 8th Annual Awareness Walk - End AIDS Walk and High Heel Dash on April 8, 2017! At 9 am, our groups will meet up in Downtown Hickory starting at the First United Methodist Church (across from the Science Center) and start our two-mile walk to End AIDS that will end with a Community Celebration and High Heel Dash at Taft Broome Park.

Registration for the walk is open now at and costs only $25 and includes an End AIDS Walk t-shirt with an option to purchase a meal ticket for $7 from local food vendor, John Boy's Cafe. The high heel dash starts at 11 am at Taft Broome Park, and it is completely free! We encourage all participants to dress up and bring their own heels or make use of our fabulous heel supply.

ALFA serves nine counties in Western North Carolina providing important services, and the funds and awareness raised at our annual End AIDS Walk helps us achieve our mission of improving the lives and health of those affected by HIV/AIDS while preventing transmission through education and testing.

Call up some friends or coworkers, get together a team, or head out yourself and register now to help End AIDS with ALFA. Now is the time to spread awareness, not HIV!
